§ 18-140. Procedure when dog suspected of having rabies.

  • Whenever the owner of any dog shall observe or learn that such dog has shown symptoms of rabies or has acted in a manner that would lead a reasonable person to suspect that it might have rabies, it shall be unlawful for such owner to fail, refuse or neglect to notify the rabies control officer immediately or to fail, refuse or neglect to permit the rabies control officer to make an inspection of the dog to establish to the satisfaction of the official whether or not such dog has rabies.
