§ 38-5. Candidate's filing pledges and statements of expenditures.

(a)

Any citizen of the City of Anderson who is by law a qualified elector of the City of Anderson, and who otherwise meets the qualifications to run for public office in the City of Anderson under the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, and the Ordinances of the City of Anderson, as amended, shall be permitted to declare himself or herself a candidate for the office for which he or she seeks to be elected by filing a statement of candidacy with the Anderson County Registration and Election Commission at least sixty days before the date of the General Election of the City of Anderson but not more than thirty days sooner than the beginning of the sixty-day period as set forth above.

(b)

The filing fee for each council candidate shall be $200.00 and each mayoral candidate shall be $300.00. Such filing fee shall be paid to the Anderson County Registration and Election Commission at the time of filing.
